Visitor center Meteoria Söderfjärden

Velcome to the Meteoria - the visitor center in the middle of the meteorite crater Söderfjärden!

Guides are always available during the Meteoria's opening hours  
and can show you around the exhibitions in the different buidlings. For visitors of all ages, the guides open fascinating windows into the history of Söderfjärden and the Earth, from prehistoric times to present. You can experience and learn from: a dramatic multimedia show; drill cores from the crater; illuminated displays illustrating the crater's development over millions of years, agriculture and bird life; and a crane diorama. The meteorite and crater rock exhibition features meteorites from around the world, crater rocks and fossils found at Söderfjärden, as well as different unique animated crater movies.

When the Meteoria is closed you can obtain information about what the center offers through an interactive screen found on the terrace of building 6. You can also explore the area's outdoor exhibitions on your own: nr. 2, 3, 7, 8, 9, 10, as well as the exhibition windows and talking rocks at building 4.
